A Classic Backyard Wedding was designed and put together for Danielle and Tim’s wedding day in the Aptos Hills of California. Backyard weddings were not that popular but the recent virus has turned backyard weddings into an ever-lasting trend.

Dana Arnold Photography
Hey, there! My name is Dana Arnold and I am a wedding photographer based out of Monterey, California. Since 2017, I have been full-time creating moments and capturing details at weddings for all couples. It pleases me that most of my couples are healthcare, military, or work for the education system. All my couples bring me joy and happiness and remind me that this is something I love doing and will forever be grateful that they stepped into my life.
When I am not photographing weddings, I am enjoying my time with my husband, traveling the world once country at a time, and working a few days a week at a local bridal boutique. There I get to serve more brides in helping them find their wedding dress!
Tim and Danielle
Online has been the new way to meet your forever person, and it goes the same for Tim and Danielle. What is special about them is that they actually work for the same school district. Danielle is an elementary teacher and Tim is a High School history teacher. I asked these two what they love about each other back when they hired me in July of 2021, and the answers made me smile!
Tim: ” Danielle always puts me in a good mode, and brings out the best in me. She is smart, funny, and cares about her students.”
Danielle: ” I love that Tim lets me be who I am. He is calm and is so talented. He can play several instruments and match a tone.”
What makes me smile even more is their proposal story. Many of you know that I used to live in Hawaii, on the west side of Oahu. In fact, my home was about 15 minutes from Germaine’s Luau. I used to photograph several sessions on the same beach where Tim asked Danielle to marry him. They picked out the ring together in Hawaii and I love that he decided to keep that moment on the island, and propose during their last day on Oahu!

A Classic Backyard Wedding
I personally love the idea of backyard weddings for many reasons. You get to save money, it’s more relaxing, and less stressful than planning a venue wedding. Tim and Danielle used a family friend’s home to host their backyard wedding. Together, their closest friends and family celebrated their love in a quiet backyard.
Now that they are married, there is only one goal that these two share together. It’s to live life and be simply happy. That is something I can stand by.
Congratulations to Danielle and Tim on hosting a beautiful and quiet backyard ceremony. I wish you two the best as husband and wife!
