This Memory Garden Wedding here in Monterey California was held on a beautiful Spring Day. Kaylin and Stephen have been planning this wedding for months. I knew from the meeting we had back when they hired me, this was going to be a beautiful set up and one fun party!
Monterey Wedding Photographer
Hey, everyone! My name is Dana Arnold and I am a Monterey Wedding Photographer. I am excited to be moving to Japan in January of 2023. This is not stopping me from still photographing beautiful weddings and launching my European brand this coming May! Aside from wedding and engagement photography, I enjoy traveling with my husband and exploring new places.
Memory Garden Wedding
Kaylin and Stephen decided that on their wedding day, they were going to have a first look! This is something that I truly love doing. It allows some private time between the bride and groom, plus allows them to enjoy cocktail hour. We decided to do this first look at the memory garden where they were getting married. The light was spotty but the moment was beautiful. Both Kaylin and Stephen wiped tears from each others eyes. Smiling and holding each other they were enjoying the day. This moment was one of Stafford’s and I favorite.
The ceremony seats were filling fast as guest from both sides started to arrive. Everyone was greeting their distant friends and family, hugging their grandparents, and chatting about how excited they are for the bride and groom! Getting ready for the wedding, I can hear their guest talk about how they are looking forward to this ceremony and for the party later!
Come time for the ceremony to start, the guest started to sit. Sniffles from family members were already happening, and the bride didn’t even walk down the aisle yet. Once Stephen got into place, and saw his bride walk down the aisle with her dad, he had the biggest smile! Even after the first look, that smile was bright and warm, because he knew in this moment, he was about to marry the love of his life!
Monterey Marriott Reception
This is where the party begins! The 10th floor of the Monterey Marriott has an incredible view of Monterey, Seaside, Marina, and as far as Santa Cruz. The view was spectacular, and everyone was impressed by the set-up, the staff, and the food. I thanked the workers about four times on how incredible they were.
Whether it was the first dances, the cake cutting, or dancing to artist like Queen, everyone was cheerful and smiling. At one point, I am almost certain 90% of the guest were all on the dance floor having a good time. The vibe was incredible and I found myself dancing and singing outlet several times. As well as laughing while capturing moments from the party.
Kaylin and Stephen, thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer. Stafford and I loved documenting this wedding day and enjoyed our time with your friends and family!
