Hello, reader! My name is Dana Arnold and I am a Monterey Photographer based out of Monterey and Carmel, California. When I am not photographing weddings for incredible couples, I am doing a Family Photoshoot for the families that value all the special moments! When the sessions are done, I blog them to showcase how well the day went! Here are some of my favorites from a session I did at Ribera Beach in Carmel!

For shoots like these, I always make sure to get one of just the kiddos! Aren’t they so adorable in this photo?
It’s important to me to also make sure I get photos that the mom wants of just the kiddos! This way, she can have them for wall framing, side by side of their kids from the year before, etc. When I reached out to Cassaundra about the list, she made sure to tell me exactly what she needs!
Family Photo Ideas
Every photo shoot I do for families, I always try to capture the basics. There is always time though to have some fun moments on the beach! I did a walking photo with the family of them holding hands. I am pretty sure they need to be on the cover of the next Kohl’s Magazine. Cassaundra also wanted photos with her and her girls that are much more editorial; they turned out so good!
At the end of the session with the whole family, the last thing I do is focus on the parents. I work hard in making sure they get some photos of just the two of them! I mean, when was the last time they had that done? Probably their wedding! So, here are some of my favorites of Mom and dad. Trust me, they are beautiful!
This family session might just be one of my most favorites to date! I LOVE Ribera Beach and just how isolated it is from the tourist areas of Carmel and Monterey.
