Dana Arnold here! Hello and welcome. I am a wedding photographer based out of California, but still here happily serving my Virginia couples. For those who do not know me, I am a navy wife who moves around, and of course takes my business with me. I used to live in Virginia and now I live in California, after a fun move across the country. Although I am serving California currently, I still want to share my out-of-state weddings so here is one about a Cousiac Manor Wedding in Virginia!
It’s been over two years since I first met Jazzmin and Dan. Two years ago when I shot their engagement session at Fort Monroe during cherry blossom season. They both had booked me for their wedding for 2020, but you can guess how that turned out. Now here I am, still celebrating their Cousiac Manor Wedding in Virginia. It was quite a party! The celebration was strong since they were either negative for covid or had a vaccine, making it feel like it was “normal”. Today’s blog is all about Jazzmin and Dana!
Jazzmin’s ideal wedding day details were based on the colors of gray, lavender, and sage. Shown in both her invitations and her florals. With a waterfront wedding and a reception in the barn, the details from this wedding day were on point and perfect for Jazzmin and Dan’s personality. The arch was brown with a beautiful floral piece. Their table scapes had beautiful center pieces, and of course, can’t have a country wedding without a country buffet! Pulled chicken, mac and cheese, and corn bread that was so soft and warm!

Before the ceremony, Jazzmin did a first look with her dad right outside the venue. After kindly moving everyone to the other side of the building, their first look was perfect. Her dad was so excited to see her, “Wow! Holy cow!” came out of his mouth first.
One of my favorite ceremony moments is when things get personal. I love when the officiants are funny, and I love when jokes are made. If the crowd is laughing, and the ceremony is quick and to the point, it’s always a crowd favorite.
Then of course, to finish an incredible wedding day, you have a party. I am talking some cake smashing, a donut tower, the bride rapping word for word to Lil Wayne, and a sparkler exit. The crowd was dancing and have a great time. The speeches were funny, yet emotional. The crowd loved listening to what everyone had to say. Oh, and of course going back to the sparkler exit! Drinks in hand, the bride and groom left the barn and headed outside where they were able to catch their limo.
Dan and Jazzmin, thank you so much for being so incredible and throwing one heck of a wedding/party. I loved getting to hang out with you guys again, and meet your family. Best of luck to you and your family on your future and I am excited to see you guys grow!
